1. Nature of the Service
Johnson County Residents Directory is a private reference that describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with a government office, court, library, or records custodian.
2. Permitted Use
Use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it or a linked result to:
- stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person;
- locate someone protected by a court order or confidentiality program;
- commit identity theft, fraud, or other unlawful conduct;
- make an FCRA-regulated eligibility decision;
- scrape, copy, or republish the service at scale; or
- interfere with its operation, security, or availability.
3. Consumer Reporting Status
This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. ยง 1681 et seq. Nothing here or returned by a linked tool is a consumer report, and it may not be used for any FCRA-regulated purpose.
4. Outside Services
Government portals, libraries, archives, sponsored tools, and other linked services have their own terms and policies. We do not control their content, availability, pricing, security, or data practices.
5. No Warranties
The service is provided as is and as available. We make no warranty that a statement, link, coverage date, or outside result is accurate, complete, current, secure, or available.
6. Liability Limits
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of this service or a linked resource.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Brief quotations with attribution and ordinary linking are allowed; full republication or systematic copying is not.
9. Term Updates
We may revise these terms by posting a new version. Continued use after the posting date means you accept the revised terms.
10. Access Restrictions
We may suspend, block, or limit access for a user who violates these terms or abuses the service, without notice where permitted by law.
11. Governing Law
Texas law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Texas Government Code Chapter 552, the Texas Public Information Act, governs access to public information held by governmental bodies, but confidentiality statutes and other exemptions remain applicable.
12. Severability
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect to the fullest extent allowed by law.
